Job Description

Description

  • This position is responsible for the planning, execution and overall operation of a high quality after school site which will promote the YMCA's core values of youth development, healthy living, and social responsiblity and encourage lifelong learning. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate high quality member service to program participants, families, members, and volunteers
  • This is a part time, after school position operating Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Minimum of six months experience working with school age children (with Bachelor’s) or minimum of one year experience working with school age children (without Bachelor’s.)
  • Knowledge and experience with the Department of Early Education and Care regulations and QRIS Standards. 
  • The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with, staff, children & families, volunteers, school administrators, members, community leaders and other agencies are critical to this position.
  • Effective teaching skills, the ability to implement methods to address and follow up with family needs/concerns in a positive and professional way reflecting an attitude that values diversity. 

 

 

Physical Demands

 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity. Activities that may be required as part of the job are climbing, running, swimming and other outdoor activities.

The After School Program at the South Shore YMCA in Quincy, MA is now hiring Site Coordinators for the 2019/2020 school year! Programs are located at various after school sites throughout Quincy, MA.
