Job Overview
The Regional Director of Medical Science Liaisons is a field-facing representative of the US Medical Affairs Department, who will lead and manage a team of field-based Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) supporting both oncology and dermatology. This role is responsible for driving strategic scientific engagement, ensuring excellence in field medical execution, and aligning regional activities with medical affairs objectives. The Director will play a key role in territory medical coaching, talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and insight generation to support the launch and lifecycle management of Acrotech’s products. The Director will use a metrics-driven approach and oversee the execution of the regional field medical plans and key initiatives, such as Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, educational programs, clinical study support, investigator initiated studies (IISs), scientific congress participation, and data dissemination.
The Director will maintain regular communication and frequent collaboration with the other home office Medical Affairs functional leaders including key product leaders, matrix team members, and the Head of Medical Affairs. Strong leadership experience is required to motivate and guide the regional team towards achieving outstanding results aligned with corporate goals. This also includes mentoring and coaching individual MLSs in the field to enhance their professional competencies and capabilities, as well as compliant collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure regional optimization of the medical plans. The Director will track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and effectiveness of the regional MSL activities, gathering and analyzing field insights from external stakeholders to inform strategic decisions and initiatives. Building and maintaining effective professional relationships with critical external stakeholders will be a key focus, as well as ensuring alignment in medical education activities for healthcare professionals through MSL-delivered presentations and participation in medical meetings.

- Provide point of contact for day-to-day activities for the MSL teams, coordinating cross-functionally within Medical Affairs to implement the Medical Field plan.
- Lead and assist direct reports, as needed, in providing medical and/or scientific data about Acrotech products to KOLs.
- Lead direct reports to develop territory plans, support IISs, medical meeting coverage.
- Work directly with the Medical Affairs leaders in the development of Medical Field team objectives, tactics, and metrics.
- Responsible for MSL team accountability and attainment of medical and business objectives and overall leadership for the team.
- Collaborate within a matrix team to ensure planning and training for the MSL team.
- Lead and assist the Support the recruitment and retention of talent, providing oversight and coaching to direct reports for field team performance reviews, approvals, and monitoring for compliance.
Qualifications - Skills & Requirements
Qualifications
- 3-plus years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership success in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is preferred.
- Prior MSL management experience is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills across scientific, clinical, and commercial audiences, with the ability to manage high-level scientific relationships and represent Acrotech in external engagements.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization.
- Proficiency in scientific analysis, data interpretation, and operational proficiency with power point, word, and excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work with software tracking/logging systems.
Education & Experience
- MD, PhD, or PharmD, or equivalent, experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry within Medical Affairs, with extensive MSL experience preferred.
