Accountant & Internal Auditor

Central Islip, NY
 $60,000 - $90,000 per year | Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role

Quality Enclosures is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Accountant & Internal Auditor to join our Accounting team in Central Islip.

This position supports core accounting functions while assisting with internal audits and compliance reviews across the organization. The role plays a key part in strengthening internal controls, supporting the month-end close process, and improving financial procedures within a growing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, inventory, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets)
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies

Internal Audit & Compliance

  • Conduct internal reviews of A/R, A/P, payroll, inventory, purchasing, and expenses
  • Evaluate compliance with company policies and GAAP
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements
  • Maintain documentation of audit findings and corrective actions

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Support development of management reports and KPIs
  • Review accounting workflows and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Assist with ERP or system enhancements as needed


Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–6 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP or General Ledger systems

Preferred:

  • Internal audit experience
  • Manufacturing, distribution, or construction industry experience
  • Experience with Sage ERP
