Physical Therapist

(1 Position - K-8)

 

Qualifications (Required): 

1. Valid License as a Physical Therapist. 


2. Successful experience as a physical therapist. 


3. Experience implementing direct physical therapy services (including gross motor and/or physical disabilities which will allow them to access the school safely) for students within sub-separate and inclusion classes. 


4. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. 


5. Teachers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

 

Qualifications (Preferred):

1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to provide direct physical therapy services (including gross motor and/or physical disabilities which will allow them to access the school safely) services to students on IEP’s.


2. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records. 


3. Keep folders/portfolios with student work. 


4. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator. 


5. Write end of summer progress reports for each student served.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 103 hours total to include the following: 

• Professional In-service Days (Date TBD 3 hours).


• 20 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 1– August 1 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.). 

Stipend: $40 an hour, $4,120 total (20 days/5 hrs + 1 inservice at 3 hours)
