Job Description

SUMMARY
The Resnick Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the nursing department for Resnick Assisted Living Facility under the Director’s direction. This role provides support to the Director of Resnick Assisted Living with administrative operations under Director’s direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Maintains employee schedules, conducts interviews, manages payroll, and completes employee evaluations, performance-manages staff as needed, for the nursing department.
•Conducts frequent and accurate audits, drills, in-services, and coaching within the nursing department as indicated within internal and state protocols.
•Acts quickly on facility grievances and staffing concerns.
•Ensure all documentation meet state and internal regulatory standards.
•Maintain accurate records in the resident management system.
•Screens incoming calls and emails and responds independently when possible.
•Works closely with the nursing department in correspondence to Director of Assisted Living regarding the status of resident care and any significant changes.
•Assists with the admissions, discharge, and transfer processes for the facility.
•Partners with the Sales team during the admissions process to ensure new residents are a good fit and that care needs are clearly communicated.
•Conducts welcome calls with all new family members.
•Conducts welcome interviews with each resident, dependent on cognitive ability.
•Maintains files that include but are not limited to resident files, admission documents, policies, procedures, inspections, and correspondences.
•Maintains/updates all assisted living manuals as directed by the Director.
•Orders supplies and maintains inventory for the nursing department.
•Performs all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not supervise others.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

•Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN License) required.

•Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing setting.
•Strong leadership, judgement and documentation skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
•Familiarity with senior living regulations and care coordination is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
•Valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.
•Valid CPR Certification.
•Valid First Aid Certification.
