What You'll Do As a Sales Support Specialist at Principal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team, becoming a product knowledge and sales expert along the way. This role offers an exciting opportunity for growth and advancement within the annuities distribution sector. Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do: Promote variable annuity products through inbound phone contact with financial advisors to provide marketing and presale support. Engage with case building by keeping up-to-date on retirement-related topics to contribute value. Maintain close working relationship with top representatives in an effort to increase sales. Understand how our investments fit into an overall, well diversified portfolio of assets by staying current on economic and financial issues that affect our business. Support sales efforts by assisting with case design, sales ideas, hypothetical product illustrations, and application materials. Provide competitive research and analysis on products and sales. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience. Licensing required based on state/federal laws and/or company policy in accordance with current licensing policy. Extensive and detailed knowledge of FINRA Series 6 investment products required. Investment sales experience a plus. Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and math skills. Requires basic computer and business unit software skills. Miscellaneous travel and overnight travel may be required. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $24.21 - $32.43 / hour Time Off Program Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Pension Eligible Yes Location This position is located in Des Moines, IA. Work Environment This role offers the ability for in-office, & hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. This is a hybrid position with the requirement of 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home. Management reserves the right to adjust the days required in office.
