Electrical Component Engineer
Location: Pune

About the Role
Looking for:
- Bachelor’s in engineering with minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in Electrical/ Electromechanical component engineering alternate parts component qualification
- Experience with any PLM tool to handle ECR/ECO.
- Knowledge of BOM Management tools like Silicon Expert and HIS to track component Life cycles Status.
- Support Design Engineering to identify and qualify second sources electronic parts.
- Proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-of-life (EOL) and obsolete situations and minimize impacts.
- Review and address Product Change Notices (PCN’s) from component manufacturers.
- Ensure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, AEC etc
- Review, analyse and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM’s) down to manufacturer part level.
- Has very good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Electrical schematic and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) development
Job/Task Description:
- Identify and perform Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical alternate/replacement parts qualification
- Work on Component library management
- Check component datasheet and understand electrical specifications of component
- Create new part in ECAD database and update attributes as per datasheet
- Perform Alternate component search and provide a detailed Component comparison report and should be a self-decision maker on component attributes.
- Suggestion of Form Fit Functional alternates for Risk / Sole source or single source components.
- Support for building process and documentation for Component Engineering / Obsolescence management
- Perform activities of obsolescence management like BOM import, Alternate suggestion, PCN/PDN alerts
- Work closely with a cross functional team on electrical Component for executing Problem reports (PR), Change order (CO) etc.
Mandatory Skills:
Understanding of end-to-end parameters of Electrical/ Electromechanical components such as Passive, Discrete, Integrated circuits, Connectors, Cables, Fuses, Relays, Switches, RF generators, Sensors, Adapters/Filters, Cable Assemblies and all other PCBA Components etc.
- Review and interpret all component data sheets and evaluate all components for various product applications.
- Experience with PLM, Library management
- Familiar with industry standards such as UL, CE, CSA, IPC, SEMI etc.
- Cross functional team experience would be preferred
- Experience in product manufacturing with be added advantage
- Experience in overseas client interaction
