Job Description

SUMMARY

The Shipping Inventory Clerk is responsible for the accurate movement, tracking, and verification of finished goods inventory within the shipping department. This role ensures materials are properly scanned, stored, and counted to maintain inventory accuracy and support efficient shipping operations. The position also supports equipment compliance by maintaining required hi-lo (forklift) inspection documentation.

Key Responsibilities

· Move finished goods material from the Assembly finished goods area (G12) to the shipping department.

· Scan finished goods material from Assembly into designated finished goods inventory locations within shipping.

· Scan material from pack cells into assigned finished goods inventory locations.

· Perform weekly cycle counts of randomly selected finished goods locations to verify inventory accuracy.

· Investigate and report inventory discrepancies to the Shipping Supervisor or Materials Manager.

· Maintain organization and accuracy of finished goods inventory locations.

· Complete required hi-lo (forklift) training and operate equipment safely in accordance with company policies.

· Ensure hi-lo inspection check sheets throughout the facility are completed and updated weekly.

· Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.

· Support shipping and warehouse operations as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

· 1–2 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or inventory control preferred.

· Experience using barcode scanners or ERP/WMS systems preferred (such as Plex or similar systems).

Skills and Competencies:

· Basic computer and scanning system skills

· Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory transactions

· Ability to operate material handling equipment safely

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to follow standard work instructions

· Dependable and punctual

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

· Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds as needed

· Ability to operate a forklift (hi-lo)

· Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment

Working Conditions

· Manufacturing and warehouse environment

· Exposure to moving equipment and industrial noise

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
