Job Description

Morrison Center is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), to be based in Wells, Maine

 

Morrison Center is hiring an additional Part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP), 24 Hours a week, Monday - Thursday, 8am - 2pm.    The DSP must be willing to transport clients out into the community, provide personal care, complete daily documentation, and have a good understanding of what community supports is.  DSP staffer to support the clients in maintaining, obtaining, and managing their goals. 

 

Requirements of the Direct Support Professional:

  • HS Diploma or GED Required
  • DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.
  • Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Valid Maine Driver’s license required and a clean driving record
  • Experienced with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home with the Shared Living DSP who resides there as well.

Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional:

  • Willing to transport clients out into the community
  • Provide personal care, showers, toileting, dressing etc.
  • Supporting clients to help them reach and maintain plan of care goals and activities.
  • Have a good understanding of what community supports is
  • Gives hands on and eyes on care and support for clients
