Job Description

Job Description

Receives and discharges inmates; performs complete booking process including fingerprinting, photographs, etc. Performs search of persons leaving or reentering the facility for contraband; completes required forms necessary during booking and release process; prepares routine records, reports and files as required; makes proper entries into jail management software; operates video player software to review video in incidents recorded by jail security camera; uses Microsoft Outlook to send and receive electronic email.


Correction Officer Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Willing to perform shift work
  • Willing to work holidays/weekends and overtime
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

General Requirements for Employment: 

  • No felony convictions
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License/ID
  • Must be able to pass extensive background investigation including, but not limited to, the monitoring of social media accounts, prior law enforcement interaction, and personal & past job references
