Job Description

The mission we offer you:

Reporting to the Director of Research and Development, the Formulator plays a key role in the development of personal care products (cosmetics and OTC). You actively participate in the creation, optimization and validation of new formulas, while ensuring a rigorous follow-up of technical documentation and working closely with several internal teams.

 

An overview of your everyday life

  • Develop new formulations and improve existing formulations based on theoretical concepts and laboratory tests
  • Perform performance tests to assess product stability, compliance, and efficacy
  • Plan and complete daily batches according to the department's priorities
  • Document R&D projects and ensure that technical files are updated for each client
  • Develop and validate preliminary and final formula specifications
  • Collaborate with process engineering during the transition to production scale
  • Follow up on stability tests and recommend required adjustments
  • Supervise, as required, pilot batches and first production batches
  • Collecting, analyzing, and communicating scientific data to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, GLP, GMP and internal procedures

 

 

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • A Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field) or a DEC in Chemistry/Biochemistry
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical product development
  • A solid knowledge of formulated products (emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, structures, hot casting)
  • Excellent mastery of the raw materials used in the cosmetics industry (polymers, dyes, active agents)
  • Good organizational skills and excellent priority management
  • A good sense of autonomy, rigor and meticulousness
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ease with computer tools (MS Office Suite)
  • Bilingualism in French and English, required to understand technical documentation and collaborate with certain teams
