Description
QuikCut, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Weld Shop Supervisor to help oversee our welding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of welders and welding support staff.
- Ensure all welding work meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Train and mentor welding staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, client engineers and other stakeholders as needed to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
- Develop and implement welding procedures and protocols.
- Supervise a team including approving time, monitoring attendance, and performance management.
- This position will generally be a 50/50 split of your time – half operating, half in supervisory tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder, 5+ years MIG and TIG preferred
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Understanding and willingness to utilize Lean manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in various positions.
