Job Description

This position is contingent upon award.

Program Description:

The program provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) core and non-core support in the areas of Cyber Security and Management to improve the Information Assurance (IA) posture of a National customer. The contracts Core Capabilities are:  IA Management, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) coordination and reporting, Risk Management Framework (RMF) application, IA compliance measurements and metrics, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Defense support.

 

Position Description:

The Cyber Systems Engineer provides support to the customer in the area of Cyber Security. Daily Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to a Front Office element supporting a Director and Deputy Director and collaborating with other FO personnel and government and contractor leads of 5 branches
  • Help manage and facilitate the customer’s weekly Cyber Risk Council
  • Provide assessments to the customer on the cybersecurity state of IT assets.
  • Develop briefings and artifacts for Front Office Leadership
  • Provide technical recaps of customer meetings
  • Work closely with the customer Lead and stakeholders to manage the Group’s portfolio
  • Inform government leads on status and progress of all projects
  • Work with government and contractor leads to address various systems engineering, system integration, and project management issues across projects
  • Advise in the production and tailoring of government financial execution reports and program acquisition documentation and ensure affordable, supportable and effective program requirements are specified to meet mission needs.
  • Produces high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials
  • Analyzes policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps
  • Develops strategies to comply with privacy and risk management requirements.

Required:

  • 10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 6 to 8 years with PhD.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Able to support customer’s core hours (0900-1500; Mon – Fri)
  • DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM
  • Excellent communications skills - Verbal and Non-Verbal
  • Ability to develop and deliver briefings and other technical artifacts appropriately tailored for the intended audience
  • Experience supporting project management
  • Experience with customer’s Cybersecurity Processes and tools/capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Excel and other database applications
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to support Division Level GPOCs

Desired:

  • Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced IA certification (i.e. CISSP or CASP)
  • Experience briefing senior customer personnel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast pace deadline driven environment
  • Familiarity with the RMF process
  • Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
