We’re looking for a Float Nurse Manager to provide leadership across inpatient units and the Float Pool while partnering closely with Quality, Risk, Accreditation, and Infection Control teams.

This is a high-impact role for someone who can balance clinical leadership, operational oversight, and a deep commitment to safety, quality, and trauma-informed care.

What You’ll Do

As the Float Nurse Manager, you will:

  • Lead hospital-wide staffing coordination to ensure safe, effective coverage
  • Oversee and support Float Pool nursing staff, including hiring, onboarding, and mentoring

  • Partner with leadership to maintain regulatory compliance and continuous survey readiness
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor key safety and performance metrics
  • Support accreditation efforts and collaborate on plans of correction following surveys
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing, Risk Management, and Quality teams
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and just culture principles
  • Ensure high standards of documentation and patient care delivery
  • Step in to support clinical operations, including difficult-to-fill shifts when needed

Leadership & Impact

This role is more than staffing and supervision—you’ll:

  • Lead performance improvement projects and ensure lasting change
  • Analyze and trend data to improve patient outcomes and operational performance
  • Support staff education in trauma-informed care, crisis response, and behavioral management
  • Collaborate across departments to strengthen communication and care coordination
  • Help shape policies, procedures, and best practices

Requirements

  • Psychiatric Nursing Certification

Physical & Clinical Requirements

  • Respond effectively to behavioral crises, including aggressive or self-injurious behavior
  • Physically capable of movement-based interventions (lifting, pivoting, stabilizing patients, etc.)
