Description
EPS Security is looking for a talented individual to join our Estimating Department as a Fire and Security Estimator. This person will be responsible for providing technical expertise and advise those in Installation, Service, Sales and Management regarding intrusion and fire alarm equipment, video, and access control. They will be responsible for the design, proposal, and markup of fire alarm and security systems installed by technicians and contractors.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Responsible for estimating and preparing proposals for Access Control, Intrusion, Video, and Intercom systems.
- Work directly with the Sales department on preparation of proposals. Includes analyzing customer’s needs and designing system layout, providing equipment options, and adhering to applicable code requirements.
- Participate in meetings related to job start, conduct site surveys, and speak with customers in a technical capacity.
- Obtain quotes from subcontractors and distributors as required.
- Evaluate new (and updates) to fire and security products as part of an internal team.
- Conduct job reviews on proposals and revise as necessary based on technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to design and functionality of equipment.
- Learn code and AHJ requirements for fire alarm systems. Create proposals for combination fire and intrusion systems to be approved by Fire and Security Systems Estimator (FSSE) 2 or 3.
- Add descriptions and labor to parts in inventory management database.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will possess the following education and experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1)+ years’ experience in fire alarm installation or service.
- Experience in access control and video installation or service.
- Able to pass background check and drug screen
Preferred:
- Trained and skilled across the suite of EPS Lead Products (Vista, DMP, Digital Watchdog, FireWarden, Notifier, PDK, and DSX)
- Understanding of project management, project bid, construction project lifecycle, and phased installation.
- VeriFire Tools Certified and Licensed
- NICET II or ESA CFAT II + FAST
