Position Overview 

BLOC Resources is seeking a skilled and innovative Content Developer 2 (Instructional Designer) to support enterprise training initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality learning solutions that drive performance, enhance workforce capability, and align with organizational goals. 

You will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructors to translate complex information into engaging, effective learning experiences across multiple delivery formats, including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual learning (VILT), and eLearning. 

This role is ideal for a professional who combines instructional design expertise, creativity, and technical proficiency with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

?? Instructional Design & Content Development 

  • Analyze learning needs and performance gaps to design effective training solutions  

  • Develop end-to-end learning experiences including eLearning modules, facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, and performance support tools  

  • Apply instructional design methodologies (ADDIE or similar) and adult learning principles to ensure engaging and effective content  

  • Design training for multiple delivery formats (ILT, VILT, blended learning, and digital learning environments)  

  • Ensure all learning materials align with branding standards, templates, accessibility requirements, and organizational guidelines  

 

?? Curriculum Development & Learning Strategy 

  • Participate in curriculum planning and development, ensuring alignment of learning objectives, content structure, and delivery strategies  

  • Define learning outcomes, course objectives, and instructional strategies for various training programs  

  • Select appropriate delivery methods, technologies, and media to maximize learner engagement and retention  

  • Continuously evaluate and improve training effectiveness based on feedback and performance metrics

  • Develop content using industry-standard authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or similar platforms  

  • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, narration tools, and multimedia software to enhance learning experiences  

  • Incorporate emerging technologies, including AI tools, into instructional design and development processes  

  • Ensure compatibility of learning materials across Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other enterprise platforms

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery  

  • Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and deliverables with minimal supervision  

  • Track progress, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate project updates effectively  

  • Maintain documentation, course files, and version control within systems such as SharePoint and LMS

  • Partner with business leaders, SMEs, instructors, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop training solutions  

  • Facilitate design discussions, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives

Required Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Communications, or related field 
    OR equivalent professional experience  

 

Experience 

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, or related field  

  • Proven experience developing ILT, VILT, and/or eLearning solutions  

  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines  

 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficiency with Articulate 360 or similar eLearning authoring tools  

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and multimedia development tools  

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite  

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SharePoint  

  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application in content development (preferred)

Content Developer 2 (Instructional Designer) 

Location: 3535 Colonnade Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35243 
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $32.80 per hour 
Contract Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension based on performance and business needs) 
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 40 hours per week (4 days in office, 1 day remote; additional in-office time may be required based on business needs)
