Description
Automation Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical control systems, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and other automation components, to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, identifying root causes of issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new automation equipment, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
- Work closely with the Automation Manager and other team members to support the implementation of new automation projects, providing technical expertise and hands-on assistance.
- Perform diagnostic testing to optimize system performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all electrical control systems, including wiring diagrams, and maintenance records.
- Provide detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards, particularly when working with high-voltage equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related Applied Sciences field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing field with a focus on electrical controls and/or automation systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical control systems, including sensors, actuators, and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
- Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document work and communicate technical information to colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments to achieve common goals.
