General Manager – Food (Multi-Site)

Trowbridge & Sittingbourne (Regular travel required)

Overview

We’re looking for a high-impact General Manager to lead our food laboratory operations across two key sites in Trowbridge and Sittingbourne.

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for operational performance, people, and P&L, where you’ll play a key part in shaping site strategy, driving continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

You’ll be a visible leader across both locations, working closely with Laboratory Managers and senior stakeholders to ensure performance, quality, and culture are consistently strong.

Location & Travel

This is a multi-site role and will require regular presence at both our Trowbridge and Sittingbourne laboratories.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable operating across locations and can effectively manage their time to support both teams.

Day to Day:

  • Leading and developing high-performing laboratory teams across both sites
  • Taking full ownership of site performance, including P&L, KPIs, and service delivery
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality
  • Building strong client relationships and supporting business growth opportunities
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards (ISO 17025) and regulatory requirements
  • Promoting a strong health & safety culture and ensuring best practice is embedded
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to align on strategy and performance
  • Developing and delivering site business plans and reporting on progress

Essentials:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a laboratory or regulated environment
  • Strong track record of P&L ownership and delivering against commercial targets
  • Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to drive performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001
  • Comfortable working across multiple locations with regular travel
  • Full UK driving licence
