The Mouser.com product search is a critical aspect of our customer engagement. The Search Merchandising Manager’s role is to plan and supervise the curation of the Mouser.com search results to ensure that they are relevant to the customer and meet the goals of the business. The Search Merchandising Manager will work closely with the Development team to ensure that the latest search technologies are employed in order to adapt search behavior to quickly changing business requirements and product availability.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Works with the Product team to understand business goals for Mouser.com.
• Curates the search results of Mouser.com to align with business objectives.
• Ensures that customers can quickly and easily find what they are looking for using the Mouser.com search box, facets/filters, and related components.
• Works with the Development team to help configure and customize the search platform.
• Coordinates efforts with the SEO team to ensure that the Mouser.com search works well with search engines such as Google and Bing.
• Develops and maintains a productive work teams by hiring qualified personnel, training, and managing performance.
• Manages teams with integrity, ethical business practices, and in accordance with Mouser policies, procedures, and practices.
• Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendation for these employees regarding performance, including hiring, transfer, advancement, and termination.
• Manages daily operations to meet department and company objectives.
• Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments.
• Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Experience with Search Merchandising
• Knowledge of Apache Solr/Lucidworks
• Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, and REST APIs
• Comfortable with Agile software development practices
• Demonstrates strong digital communication abilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to measure key performance indicators and set team goals
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Detailed and thorough in work habits with multi-tasking ability
• Experience working in and with cross-functional and regionally diverse teams
• Familiarity with the component distribution industry preferred
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Merchandising or related field. In lieu of a degree, 3 years as a Search Merchandiser or a higher-level position. In addition to the above the following experience is required:
• Internal candidates: Minimum 2 years as a highly performing Mouser Internet Business Team Lead/Supervisor or other equivalent management position.
• External candidates: Minimum 3 years as a Search Merchandising supervisor or a higher-level management position.
