 2026–2027 School Year Position Overview:

Wishkah Valley School District is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and student-centered Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to lead and grow engaging programs in technology, media/graphic design, computer applications, and entrepreneurship within a small rural school setting. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about preparing students with practical career skills, creativity, leadership, communication, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving abilities that will help them succeed after graduation.

The successful candidate will create a hands-on, project-based learning environment that encourages career exploration and connects classroom learning to future college and workforce opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on student learning and program development by building strong relationships with students and creating innovative learning experiences that support both academic and career readiness. The teacher will work collaboratively with administration and staff to expand opportunities for students and help them discover their interests, strengths, and future goals

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CTE instruction aligned with Washington State CTE frameworks and district curriculum
  • Create classroom experiences that connect learning to real-world careers, entrepreneurship opportunities, and workforce skills
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking among students
  • Integrate technology and digital tools into daily instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and grade levels
  • Monitor student progress regularly and maintain accurate records for grading and reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with staff to support interdisciplinary projects and school improvement efforts
  • Maintain effective communication with students, staff, parents, and administration
  • Participate in professional development activities and remain current on educational and industry trends

 Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Washington State Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teaching License/Certificate
  • Hold valid CTE endorsement(s) appropriate for assigned instructional areas
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in technology, computer applications, digital media, business, entrepreneurship, or related fields
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small rural school environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, flexibility, confidentiality, and dependability

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a rural or small school district
  • Experience creating hands-on or project-based learning opportunities
