    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    JOB TITLE: Fine Arts Facility Manager

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's Degree required.  Preference will be given to a candidate with a degree and training in Theater Management.  Experience in school or building plant operational maintenance is preferred.  Competence in the administration and operation of the technical equipment included in the facility is required. The ability to physically perform all requirements of the job, including climbing ladders and stairs, equipment operation, moving and lifting equipment and supplies from floor to an overhead level, pulling, pushing, stooping, bending, and working at considerable heights above floor level. Sitting and standing for considerable periods of time will be required.  The capacity to hear and see clearly is required.  A valid driver's license is required.  The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.

     

    CONTRACT: 12 months

    WORKING HOURS: Hours vary on a constant basis, determined by facility schedule and school schedule

    REPORTS TO: High School Principal/Executive Director of Athletics and Activities 

    EVALUATED BY: High School Principal/Executive Director of Athletics and Activities 

    GRADE:  V

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Provides operational services for the Fine Arts Complex that includes the auditorium, surrounding classrooms, halls, storage areas, commons area, etc.
    2. Schedules, opens, closes and supervises all facility use.
    3. Maintains records of facility use.
    4. Establishes and maintains a safe working environment throughout the facility in compliance with OSHA regulations.
    5. Assists in teaching technical theater skills in fine arts classes.
    6. Trains and supervises technicians in facility and equipment operation.
    7. Supervises the design and construction of sets for use in the facility.
    8. Supervises the refocusing of stage lighting for all productions.
    9. Works in collaboration with district fine arts staff and the district maintenance staff.
    10. Serves as liaison and communicates effectively with community members regarding the use, fees and care of the facility.
    11. Facilitate client contractual agreements and completion of appropriate legal forms and procedures.
    12. Develops and maintains a manual or handbook for use of the facility by faculty, staff, students and the community.
    13. Proposes creative booking opportunities for appropriate artists, lecturers, musical presentations, dramatic productions and events that enhance the educational experience of faculty and students and contributes to the cultural enrichment of the community.
    14. Supervises box office staff, schedule financial transactions and accounting.
    15. Proofs and approves all printed and electronic publicity for accuracy and required legal disclaimers.
    16. Facilitates and monitors compliance with American with Disabilities Act.
    17. Works in conjunction with appropriate staff to maintain viable and practical procedures for emergencies.
    18. Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal.
