The Aviation Security Intern supports Massport’s security compliance and credentialing functions through hands‑on involvement in audits, inspections, and stakeholder coordination. This role assists Aviation Security with compliance duties across airport operations. The intern also contributes to quarterly badging audits, collaborates with the Badge Office, and helps identify and resolve non‑compliance issues. This position provides practical experience in airport security operations, regulatory compliance, and cross‑departmental engagement within a dynamic aviation environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Aviation Security Compliance
- Conduct monthly concession, club and lounge Prohibited Item audits.
- Conduct monthly Duty Free STEBS audits.
- Conduct quarterly Locks and Key audits.
- Assist the Aviation Security Manager of Compliance with quarterly field security badge audits.
- Partner with stakeholders to correct deficiencies and/or issue violations as needed for non-compliance.
Security Badging Office
- Conduct quarterly Badging audits.
- Assist the Manager of Security Badging Office with quarterly field security badge audits.
- Partner with stakeholders to address and correct deficiencies and/or issue violations as appropriate for non-compliance.
EDUCATION
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university.
WORK SCHEDULE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- This position is based at the Logan Airport.
- Ability to work a 37.5-hour work week.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
- Ability to pass Massport’s pre-employment-controlled substance test and background checks.
- Ability to pass Massport security clearance and obtain a Massport Security Badge.
