Job Overview

The Blast Booth Operator operates the abrasive blasting equipment to clean and profile surfaces of trailers to prepare for powder coating. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Blast parts to prep for powder coat.


• Set up and operate a blast booth.


• Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up materials from trailer surface.


• Assist with painting or coating as needed.

Knowledge and Skills

• Previous sandblasting experience or training preferred but not required.


• Experience in a powder coat shop is a plus.


• Physical stamina


• Familiar with power tools


• Attention to detail while moving quickly.


• Must be able to work in dusty environment.

Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The temperature in the work environment is not regulated.
