Position Overview 

We are seeking an AI-First Copy Lead to help evolve how we create, scale, and protect the Kendra Scott brand voice — in close partnership with our existing copy team. 

This role is designed to support and elevate our copy function by integrating AI thoughtfully and responsibly into our workflows. It blends strong writing expertise with AI fluency and operational leadership. 

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled writer, brand storyteller, and systems thinker who will collaborate directly with our copy team. Together, this partnership will ensure that all AI-assisted outputs reflect Kendra Scott’s standards for tone, voice, clarity, and emotional connection. 

This role enables our copywriters to focus more deeply on high-impact creative, campaign storytelling, and strategic brand-building initiatives — while building systems that streamline production work without compromising quality. 

A key responsibility will include overseeing the AI-supported development of product descriptions, ensuring consistency, SEO optimization, and brand alignment at scale — always guided by and accountable to the creative standards set by the copy team. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Partnership & Brand Stewardship 

  • Partner closely with the copy team as a collaborative extension of the function  

  • Gain a deep understanding of Kendra Scott’s brand voice, emotional nuance, and storytelling standards. 

  • Serve as a systems and AI partner to help scale the voice the team has built. 

  • Ensure AI tools reflect and protect the integrity of the brand — never dilute it. 

  • Establish shared review processes that keep copywriters at the center of brand stewardship and creative approval. 

 

AI-First Copy Strategy & Governance 

  • Serve as the internal lead for ChatGPT training and AI brand voice calibration. 

  • Develop and maintain AI brand voice guidelines, prompt libraries, and QA standards — informed directly by the copy team’s expertise. 

  • Continuously refine prompts in partnership with copywriters to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency. 

  • Identify workflow opportunities where AI can reduce repetitive production work while preserving creative integrity. 

  • Document and train team members on responsible and brand-safe AI usage. 

 

Product Description Ownership (AI-Supported) 

  • Lead the AI-powered creation and optimization of product descriptions, in close collaboration with copy. 

  • Build scalable systems for seasonal launches, core collections, and one-off drops. 

  • Ensure SEO best practices are integrated into AI-generated content. 

  • Implement quality control processes so all product copy meets brand standards before publication. 

  • Maintain elevated emotional storytelling across categories including Fashion, Fine, Philanthropy, and Events. 

 

Content Creation & Creative Support 

  • Support eCommerce, email, homepage, and SEO copy needs when appropriate. 

  • Assist with social and event materials as needed. 

  • Help create space for copywriters to focus on campaign concepts, brand storytelling, partnerships, and philanthropy messaging. 

  • Serve as a voice steward in partnership with the copy team. 

 

Operational Excellence & Workflow Optimization 

  • Build AI-driven workflows that reduce production time and increase consistency. 

  • Identify manual or repetitive processes that can be streamlined. 

  • Track efficiency gains and measure the impact of AI integration. 

  • Create documentation and training resources that empower the team. 

 

Quality Control 

  • Proof and refine outgoing content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and brand consistency. 

  • Ensure AI-assisted content maintains emotional resonance and storytelling quality. 

  • Uphold the standards established by the copy team across all channels. 

 

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in writing, marketing, communications, or related field. 

  • 3+ years of copywriting experience for a high-growth brand. 

  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (ChatGPT or similar) in content creation. 

  • Strong understanding of prompt engineering, voice calibration, and AI governance. 

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work in partnership with established creative teams. 

  • Ability to balance creativity with systems thinking and operational rigor. 

  • Deep knowledge of SEO best practices and multi-channel content strategy. 

  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. 

  • A growth mindset and curiosity about emerging technology.
