Wired for Success Scholarship

The Wired for Success Scholarship reflects our commitment to powering lives through reliable electricity and connecting communities through high-speed broadband internet. We believe that access to essential services- both power and connectivity create opportunities, supports innovation, and strengthens the future of the communities we serve. Just as we power homes and businesses with electricity and broadband, this scholarship is designed to help power students' educational journeys- supporting the next generation as they pursue their goals and contribute to thriving, connected communities.


Scholarship Details

A $4,500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who (1) resides in a household powered by Craighead Electric and/or empower and (2) plans to pursue higher education at an accredited college, university, technical school, or vocational program. It recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, initiative, and a drive to build a brighter, more connected future. While candidates from all accredited institutions will be considered, preference may be given to students who are attending institutions within Craighead Electric and empower service areas.


Application Requirements

  1. House you reside in must be a member of Craighead Electric and/or customer of empower.

  2. High school senior planning to attend an accredited college, university, technical school, or vocational program.

  3. Above 3.0 GPA

  4. Provide a one (1) to two (2) paragraph essay detailing your higher education goals and why you should be the chosen recipient- Attach under the Document Upload section

  5. Provide two (2) letters of recommendation- Attach under the Document Upload section

  6. Provide High School Transcript- Attach under the Document Upload section


All scholarship application requirements must be completed and submitted by May 15, 2026, to be eligible for consideration. After reviewing applications, CECC will select finalists for in-person interviews at the Jonesboro headquarters to determine the recipient.
