Are you a leader who thrives on driving operations and delivering an exceptional resident experience? At The Set, part of Related Rentals, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager to oversee operations of this premier 405-unit property.

 

Designed by Handel Architects and March and White Design, The Set redefines modern living with a unique blend of fully-furnished, fully-serviced, and unfurnished residences. This innovative, hotel-like living experience offers residents access to The Set Club, an exclusive social hub for work, play, and everything in between. Key amenities include a co-working floor, a rooftop pool and garden lounge, and a private restaurant led by renowned chef Dan Kluger.

 

The property also features Greywind, chef Kluger’s latest culinary destination offering seasonal fare, and Spygold, a downstairs cocktail lounge now open to the public. As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of luxury and hospitality for residents while ensuring seamless operations at one of the most exciting properties in the city.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Hire, train, and mentor on-site staff, including leasing agents, administrative personnel, and maintenance teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment that emphasizes accountability and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to ensure staff success.

Financial Oversight

  • Prepare and manage property budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Analyze and report on monthly financial performance, including variance analysis and corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee capital expenditure projects, tracking progress and maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Property Operations & Maintenance

  • Ensure the seamless operation of all aspects of the property, including leasing, maintenance, and security.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property, addressing maintenance issues proactively and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervise vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts to maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Resident Relations & Retention

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the resident experience and increase retention rates.
  • Resolve resident complaints and service requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Oversee lease renewals, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives to optimize occupancy.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Housing laws and other housing-related statutes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including certifications, inspections, and incident documentation.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory or tenant-related issues.

Marketing & Leasing

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to implement strategies for attracting and retaining residents.
  • Monitor local market trends and competitor properties to identify opportunities for competitive positioning.
  • Oversee leasing activities to ensure timely turnover of units and minimal vacancy losses.

Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead or participate in special projects to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, or property performance.
  • Actively contribute to company-wide initiatives, including employee engagement, sustainability, and innovation efforts.

 

COMPENSATION: $115,000 - $130,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in residential property management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, customer service, team leadership, and operational excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovation and proactive solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with property management systems like Yardi is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
