About the Role:
Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking an inspirational Teacher of Computing, with a specialism in Science or any other Key stage 2 subject to start in August 2026. The core purpose of the Teacher of Computing is to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences that foster academic excellence, curiosity, and personal growth in every pupil. The teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that reflects the school’s values and diverse community, while promoting global-mindedness and intercultural understanding. Through effective planning, assessment, and differentiation, the teacher ensures that all pupils make strong progress and develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to thrive both within and beyond the classroom
What you will be doing:
- Teach all timetabled Computing classes in Pre-Prep/Prep.
- To be aware of the need to differentiate work and challenges according to the ability of the pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations of all and taking full account of any linguistic or other special needs.
- Be responsible for care, security, and maintenance of Computing resources and equipment throughout
the Pre-Prep/Prep. - To work as part of a team, in harmony with and for the furtherance of the College’s ethos and declared
educational aims and priorities. - To be supportive of the department’s aims, agreed teaching styles, methods of assessment and other
policies. - Run after school clubs targeting specific skills and ages.
- To set written assignments or other creative pieces of work regularly and mark them promptly and in accordance with College and Departmental policies, ensuring that formative comments make helpful suggestions for further improvement in learning.
- To provide parents with written reports on their children’s work and progress according to current College policy and to attend parent meetings.
- Teach any other subject specialisms in the Prep according to the timetable for the current year, ensuring that lessons are planned, ordered and effective.
- To report in a timely manner any concerns regarding Child Protection or bullying to the appropriate colleague. Be responsible for the pastoral care of the children in the class and ensuring good personal relationships are fostered between the children themselves and with the teacher.
- Be responsible for the behavior and discipline of children in accordance with the school behaviour
policy. - To contribute to the College’s broad and active digital learning strategy and initatives
- Provide PPA cover and to carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Head of College
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field with PGCE or equivalent.
- Possess 2 to 6 years of teaching experience with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in the specified specialism area.
- Have knowledge of British National Curriculum requirements at the relevant Key Stages, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
- Proven record of teaching experience, prior experience in independent Prep School will be an added advantage.
- A positive team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously with the wider school
community. - A warm, engaging and approachable personality with pupils, current and prospective parents.
- Evidence of the ability to be creative and inspire enthusiasm for your subjects in both colleagues and students.
