WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple business entities using Workday Payroll and Time & Attendance.
  • Validate time entries, follow up on missing punches, and partner with managers to ensure accurate time reporting before each pay cycle.
  • Audit costing allocations, pay inputs, PTO payouts, bonuses, and car allowances for accuracy.
  • Reconcile settlement reports, confirm fund disbursements, and resolve journal discrepancies.
  • Process garnishment orders, manage returned ACH payments, and respond to tax rate notices.
  • Register new state tax IDs and coordinate tax code setup in Workday as the organization grows into new states.
  • Run out-of-cycle payrolls and payroll reversals when needed.
  • Lead annual W-2 configuration, auditing, and distribution.
  • Support Non-Discrimination Testing and Form 5500 / 401(k) audit processes.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for payroll-related questions from employees and managers.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

  • Hands-on Workday Payroll and Workday Time & Attendance experience - this is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • 3+ years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, garnishment processing, and year-end reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to audit and reconcile complex payroll data.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Preferred

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities within a single Workday tenant.
  • Familiarity with 401(k) administration and benefits-related payroll deductions.
  • Experience with third-party tax compliance platforms (e.g., One Source Virtual).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
