Are you a detail-driven accounting leader who thrives on organization, accuracy, and collaboration? Knape & Vogt is looking for an Accounting Manager to own and lead our core accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership across the business.
In this role, you�ll oversee key accounting functions including the general ledger, tax compliance, financial reporting and analysis and internal control, ensuring our transaction systems and workflows run smoothly and efficiently. You�ll lead and develop the accounting team, support audits and financial projects, and provide critical transactional and analytical insights that help drive smart business decisions.

What Will You Get To Do:
- Maintain complex ledgers; reconcile and analyze specific accounts and accruals
- Manage and participate in the month-end financial closing process
- Ensure general ledger and sub-ledgers are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items
- Research and resolve accounting entry issues, create adjusting journal entries as required
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for all levels of management
- Supervise the accounting staff in the day-to-day performance of activities
- Manage transactional accounting functions
- Maintain and implement internal controls
- Ensure for tax (income, sales, property) compliance and planning
- Coordinate with HR on company benefits, including Fiduciary 401K plan responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies
- Pursue business issues impacting financial results in a proactive and self-directed manner, partner with management in developing solutions
- Establish performance metrics, KPI�s, or evaluation of factors affecting the team
- Coach and develop others to ensure organizational success
What Will You bring:
- Work Experience: 5 years of experience in an accounting role, experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment and experience leading people
- Education: Bachelor�s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Computer Skills: Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with ERP systems
- Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively; Ability to work cross-functionally
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across a diverse customer-base; good verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization
