Purpose of Position:The Academic Technology Support team (ATS) needs student assistance to provide support to the campus, including:
• Troubleshooting and applying fixes to computer and audio/video issues in classrooms and labs.
• Assisting instructors with technology needs and questions.
• Assistance with computer lab installs, regular maintenance and other related projects to learning spaces and more.
This position is only open to students with Federal Work Study eligibility.
Applicants should be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) for Spring 26 and Summer 26 semesters.

The Academic Technology Support team (ATS) needs student assistance for the following tasks:
1. Assists instructors with technology issues in classrooms and labs. This includes (but is into limited to) Computers, monitors, software, audio devices, projectors and cable management.
2. Documents all work accordingly with a high attention to detail and regularly communicates work to members of our IT staff.
3. Participates in computer lab and software installations. Performs regular maintenance to classroom and lab technology.
4. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance as required. Attends required training.
5. Demonstrates initiative in developing and maintaining good working relationships with end users and assets (e.g. other departments and individuals that the Academic Support team works with to resolve issues).
6. Maintains data and computer security. Backs-up data files, anchors equipment, tracks and verifies work orders and user confidentiality.
7. Reviewing training materials or Knowledgebase (KB) articles for accuracy/readability.
8. Helping with in-person training when needed.
9. Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Computers/Software, Audio/Visual technology, Microsoft Office.
Skill in: Customer service; operation of personal computers and laptops, and media equipment; performing basic repairs and maintenance to equipment; application of job software programs including word processing and spreadsheets; verbal and written communications; attention to detail. Proficiency in writing with solid spelling and grammar skills required.
Ability to: Apply technical skills; diagnose minor repairs and identify major repair needs; be adaptable to last-minute changes; provide (and receive) constructive feedback.
Minimum/General Qualifications:
This position requires applicants to have Federal Work Study as part of their current Financial Aid package with Columbus State. You must also be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program. Any applicants without Federal Work Study eligibility will not be considered for this position.
Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.
Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work regularly.
Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non-degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment.
Schedule:
TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between office hours of Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Maximum 20 hours per week.
Work will be performed: On-site only.
