    Social Studies Teacher

    Principal, Supervisor or designee

     

    Description: The district is seeking a full time Social Studies teacher at Ramapo High School for the 2026-2027 school year.

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, Geography, and other subjects under the certification.
    • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives
    • Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
    • Incorporate technology, primary sources, debates, and project-based learning into the curriculum
    • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

    • Valid NJDOE teaching certification in Social Studies, or eligibility to obtain
    • Teaching experience at the high school level preferred
    • Strong content knowledge and passion for the social sciences
    • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

     

    Compensation:

    • Salary will be in accordance with the current RIHEA Agreement, currently between $61,665 and $110,439.
