Job Description

The Clinical Compliance & Placement Coordinator supports the Nurse Practitioner Program by ensuring compliance with state and national regulatory requirements across all NP concentrations. This role is responsible for overseeing clinical placement compliance, supporting student preceptor placement processes, and maintaining alignment with Boards of Nursing and accreditation standards. 

In partnership with program leadership, this position also plays a key role in developing and sustaining clinical partnerships, supporting student success in clinical experiences, and ensuring operational excellence in clinical education. 


Key Responsibilities 

1. Ensure state compliance regarding preceptor and clinical approval. This includes but is not limited to the submission of reports in states that require notification of the Maryville students doing clinical their jurisdictions, the completion of BON forms to the Maryville clinical operations team and the weekly completion of the bon compliance report to ensure proper faculty licensure oversight of clinical courses.

2. Complete applications for program approval and applications to conduct clinical in states when needed.

3. Serve on the NP Council and collaborate with other coordinators and lead faculty to help ensure that Boards of Nursing rules and regulations pertaining to curricular issues are maintained.

4. Work with the online clinical team to ensure that appropriate documentation of clinical activities is maintained. This includes pulling board of nursing reports and ensuring clinical assignments meet regulation requirements for boards of nursing and accreditation. Updating faculty on clinical tracking system updates in collaboration with coordinators and Director of NP Programs.

5. Working with operations and academic records to ensure compliance with faculty course assignments based on state board of nursing regulations.

6. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clinical partners, preceptors, and healthcare organizations to support and expand high-quality clinical placement opportunities. This includes:

  • Proactively identifying and cultivating new clinical sites and preceptors aligned with program needs
  • Strengthening existing partnerships to promote ongoing engagement and retention
  • Collaborating with leadership and clinical teams to address gaps in placement capacity
  • Supporting the development of a sustainable and diverse network of clinical learning environments

7. Oversight and coordination of the preceptor assistance process, including:

  • Assisting students who are unable to secure preceptors independently
  • Facilitating identification of appropriate clinical sites and preceptors aligned with program requirements
  • Ensuring all preceptors meet BON and accreditation standards
  • Working closely with concentration coordinators to ensure placement in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Collaborating with concentration coordinators and leadership to address placement challenges
  • Monitoring placement outcomes and identifying gaps in clinical site availability
    Working with the online clinical team to streamline placement with onboarding requirements. 

8. Maintain accurate documentation and data related to:

  • Preceptor assistance process ,including student communication and feedback.
  • Clinical sites requirements for placement
  • Available preceptor lists/outreach
  • Affiliation agreements (in collaboration with operations)

9. Remain committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students. Teaching as required per contract.

 

Qualifications


Required Knowledge
Current Nurse Practitioner with advanced practice knowledge. Knowledge of online learning management system(s). Knowledge of how to support students and faculty in achieving academic goals and outcomes.

Required Skills/Abilities 
Prior online teaching experience. Preferred prior online teaching experience as a NP.  Highly detail and analytical oriented.  Mentally nimble to balance multiple competing priorities.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.  Experience and comfortable with technology, data bases, MS Office, and ability to learn other software systems. Sales Force experience is a plus. Prior leadership and/or mentoring experience preferred.  Ability to remain calm, provide leadership and use emotional intelligence in difficult conversations.

Formal Education
MSN, nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner, Minimum of five years recent clinical experience as a NP, unencumbered RN licensure in the United States.  Preferred Doctorate in Nursing or related field.
