Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and move materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
  • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammers, or other hand tools.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Convey materials to and from storage or work sites using hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, or other material-handling devices.
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and move loads using hand-operated cranes or hoists.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or related environment preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Ability to operate and read a scanner.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic shop math skills.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and material-handling equipment.

      Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand for an extended period of time.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
