A CNC Programmer / Nester Foreman at Smith and Loveless provides technical skill and programming support for CNC machinery using files provided by engineering. This includes optimizing material usage and minimizing wasted material by nesting sheet metal components.

Job duties
- Supervise, hire, train, assist, and counsel employees in a union work environment.
- Create CNC file for machinery from DWGs, DXFs, and Solidworks models using EnRoute.
- Optimize existing files to increase efficiency on labor and material.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and design personnel.
- Operate CNC equipment (laser, router, folder, printer) as needed.
- Responsible for Inspecting Flat Patterns and Finished product as required.
- Responsible for creating models in Solidworks.
- Responsible for marking up / redlining existing blueprints.
- Responsible for creating programs / nesting using AP100 software for the Amada Turret Punches.
- Responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications for accuracy to develop sheet metal programs for CNC punch, laser and press brake operations.
- Responsible for editing existing programs when changes are made by customers for product revisions.
- Working knowledge of sheet metal lay-out to include the application in concepts such as bend deductions and bend allowances to complete flat pattern development.
- Review work order for accuracy and proper flow through manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Planning. Estimating, Customer Support and Machining departments to ensure proper fabrication of parts.
- Understanding and development of shop routings and conveying manufacturing instructions through drawings and other documentation is essential.
- Other duties as assigned by VP of Manufacturing.
