JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Harrisburg, School of Public Affairs, invites applications for adjunct appointments for the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year. The opening requires teaching Criminal Justice (CRIMJ) Courses for our Residential programs.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in criminal justice or a related social science discipline is preferred.

  • Highly qualified ABDs with substantial experience in the field may be considered.

  • Those with a minimum of an earned Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate degree, some classroom experience teaching in a college environment, and substantial experience working in the criminal justice field may be considered.

The Criminal Justice Program offers both online and residential undergraduate (A.S. and B.S.) and graduate (MACJ) programs in criminal justice. The Criminal Justice Program is part of the School of Public Affairs with additional undergraduate programs in Public Policy and Political Science. Additional graduate programs within the School include the Master’s in Public Administration, the Master’s in Health Administration, and a Ph.D. in Public Administration.

Penn State Harrisburg is located in the Central Pennsylvania area, in close proximity to downtown Harrisburg and the State Capitol complex.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
