Automation Service Engineers – All Levels (I, II, Senior)

Locations: Cummings, Fortson, or Vienna GA

 

Build, Support, and Optimize Industrial Automation Systems

We are hiring Automation Service Engineers at all experience levels to support and expand our growing industrial automation service organization. Whether you are early in your automation career or a seasoned controls expert, this is an opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge systems while supporting manufacturers across diverse industries.

 

Our Automation Service Engineers partner directly with customers to troubleshoot, program, commission, and optimize automation and control systems—keeping critical operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Scope Varies by Level)

 

Automation Service & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve issues in industrial automation and control systems
  • Modify, enhance, and support PLC, HMI, and related control platforms
  • Perform system upgrades, preventative maintenance, and on-site service calls
  • Support equipment start-ups, commissioning, and operational improvements

 

Customer & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers on-site
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding service progress, issues, and solutions
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, project, and field teams
  • Build long-term customer relationships through responsiveness and technical excellence

 

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Complete accurate service reports, programming documentation, and recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and value-added solutions
  • Stay current with evolving automation technologies and industry best practices

 

Safety First

  • Proactively identify and eliminate hazards before and during service work
  • Follow all safety procedures and promote a zero-incident culture
  • Participate in required safety training and continuous safety improvement efforts

 

LEVEL-SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS

 

Engineer I – Automation Service

  • Entry to early-career role focused on hands-on service and technical skill development
  • Troubleshoot and modify existing automation systems with team support
  • Ideal for candidates with technical training or field experience in electrical or automation work

 

Engineer II – Automation Service

  • Independent contributor capable of designing, programming, and supporting automation systems
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and system modifications
  • Support project scoping, estimates, and mentor junior engineers

 

Senior Engineer – Automation Service

  • Technical leader with deep controls and automation expertise
  • Lead complex troubleshooting, system design, and customer engagements
  • Mentor engineers, support business development, and guide technical standards

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong safety mindset and personal integrity
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

 

Preferred (Varies by Level)

  • Technical degree or vocational training in automation, electrical, or related field
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and industrial networks
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Experience in manufacturing, material handling, processing, or logistics environments
