THE MISSION
You'll serve as the rear element network architect for Joint Task Force Headquarters, designing and maintaining the Joint Force Network (JFN) infrastructure that keeps critical operations running. This role demands technical excellence; you'll be the go-to expert for network architecture, working closely with forward-deployed engineers to ensure seamless connectivity for mission-critical activities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect Joint Force Network systems, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud integration for JTTF HQ operations
- Deploy and configure enterprise networking hardware from Cisco, Juniper, and other industry leaders
- Integrate multiple information streams across platforms, including AI systems like Palantir MSS
- Monitor and optimize network performance using diagnostic tools and automation scripts
- Lead network upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives
- Enforce cybersecurity best practices, including network segmentation, access controls, and DISA STIG compliance
- Troubleshoot complex network incidents and provide root cause analysis
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and change logs
- Collaborate with IT, communications, security, and J5 JTTF personnel
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in network engineering roles with enterprise, corporate, or government environments
- Proficiency with Cisco IOS/NX-OS and Juniper Junos platforms
- Experience with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Advanced Palantir MSS technical skills
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network segmentation
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices for network design and maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS/JNCIP, CompTIA Network+
- Prior military, government, or critical infrastructure experience
- Network scripting and automation experience (Python, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, SDN, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark)
- Advanced cloud networking and hybrid architecture knowledge
- Experience with secure remote access solutions (VPN, SASE)
- Team leadership or mentoring experience
