- The successful candidate will provide high-level professional guidance to ensure that every student has access to rigorous, visible, and conceptually rich mathematics instruction.
- Ensure the fidelity of research-based practices, specifically focusing on the importance of building concept knowledge using a gradual release of scaffolds from concrete to abstract.
- Partner with staff to engage in data-based decision-making including error-analysis to diagnose student misconceptions and inform instruction.
- Design and lead workshops and seminars on best practices in primary mathematics, providing the necessary follow-up to ensure learning is successfully implemented in the classroom.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards for grades K-5.
- A firm grasp of research-based math instruction and the ability to make math "visible" for diverse learners.
- Proven ability to analyze student work and assessment data to inform differentiated instruction.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building trust and professional respect with colleagues.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple schedules, data sets, and professional development timelines.
- Previous experience facilitating professional development and providing direct classroom-based support to adult learners.

Monroe-Woodbury CSD is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative K-5 Mathematics Instructional Specialist to foster excellence in math instruction across our elementary buildings. In this role, you will act as a bridge between research and practice, supporting general education teachers, special education providers, and Math Academic Intervention Services (AIS) staff.
