Job Summary:




The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time X-Ray Technologist / TH Medical Radiographer 1 (Nights). The successful candidate will:



  • Be a licensed radiological technologist required to perform diagnostic imaging including general X-ray, portables, fluoroscopy, and all other applicable diagnostic exams.

  • Be familiar with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room.

  • Demonstrate the ability to produce high-quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols.

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide outstanding assistance to external and internal customers.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Be responsible for patient care while performing Imaging, including accuracy of patient identification.

  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with emergent situations.

  • Maintain the principle of ALARA.

  • Demonstrate the ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment.

  • Have prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS.

  • Ensure all exams are completed immediately in RIS and verify on PACS.

  • When necessary, burn CDs and DVDs.

  • Be flexible, as hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs.

  • Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and department policies and procedures, including principles of behavior.

  • Adhere to hospital/ department infection control policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients.

  • Adhere to time and attendance policies.

  • Perform other tasks as required.






Required Qualifications:





  • New York State Licensure.

  • ARRT registration.

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree or equivalent.






Preferred Qualifications:





  • 2+ years of experience in all diagnostic X-ray procedures in a hospital setting preferred.






Work Schedule:




Monday to Friday; 12:00am to 8:00am (Full-Time Nights)






Salary Grade/Rank:



SL-3



Salary Range:




Commensurate with experience and qualifications
