Are you a Certified Athletic Trainer who thrives in the field, enjoys working independently, and wants to make a real impact in workplace safety and injury prevention?

Consistent 7am - 3pm Schedule!  VERY rare weekend or evening work required!

Join Doctors of Physical Therapy and help lead the charge in on-site occupational health. We’re hiring a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to support job site safety and worker wellness. You’ll work out of a fully equipped mobile treatment van, providing real-time injury response, pre-employment Work Function Testing, and injury prevention education across multiple construction sites. All supplies and fuel for the van are paid for by the client using a company credit card. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working solo, organized, communicative, and comfortable driving between job sites.

    Location Preference
We have a strong preference for candidates who currently reside in or are willing to relocate to one of the following areas or nearby communities: Martinez, Concord, Walnut Creek, Antioch, Brentwood, Tracy, Fremont, Berkeley, Mountain House, Livermore, San Ramon, or Milpitas. Candidates located near these cities will be best positioned for success due to the nature of daily on-site travel.

    Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t a clinic or a gym. It’s a proactive, in-the-field role where you’ll directly support hardworking teams through hands-on care, education, and early intervention. From triage to testing, your work keeps skilled workers safe, healthy, and on the job.

    What You’ll Be Doing
    • Providing real-time injury response and on-site triage
    • Conducting Work Function Testing for pre-employment screening
    • Educating workers on safe practices and injury prevention
    • Documenting injuries and treatments accurately
    • Collaborating with our safety team, medical director and fellow ATCs
    • Traveling to multiple job sites in a fully equipped mobile treatment van
    • Swing shifts and occasional overnight stays may be required, typically only a few times per year. When they do occur, they’re scheduled in advance, and hotel accommodations and meals are covered.

This Role Might Be a Great Fit If You
    • Enjoy working independently and taking initiative
    • Manage your time well and follow through without reminders
    • Communicate clearly and consistently with diverse teams
    • Don’t mind driving long distances throughout the day
    • Are open to occasional overnight travel away from home

    What You’ll Need
    • Current Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC)
    • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Experience in occupational health, construction, or industrial settings is a plus but not required

Why Join Doctors of Physical Therapy
We offer outstanding benefits to support your well-being and professional growth:

    • Up to 90K base pay
    • 1k CEU
    • paid holidays
    • 3 weeks PTO
    • health insurance
    • full medbridge subscription
