TITLE: Child Care Instructor


 


CATEGORY: Classified 


 


REPORTS TO: Predchool Director and Site Principal


 


JOB GOAL: Work with the district's preschool child care program to prepare curriculum materials and instructional strategies for early childhood students in the the district. 


 


QUALIFICATION:



  1. High School Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree in related field

  2. School based leadership experience

  3. A minimum of six (6) months of successful child care experience

  4. Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

  5. Ability to work independently and supervise educational systems

  6. Demonstrated leadership experience in data driven decision-making

  7. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff and community

  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality

  9. Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties

  10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable


 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES: 


 



  1. Extensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood

  2. Ability to develop rapport with children, parents, and co-workers

  3. Strong leadership qualities and skills

  4. Ability to implementing a high-quality, age appropriate curriculum to successfully engage children and foster physical, emotional, cognitive and social development

  5. Strong group management skills with children

  6. Prepare, implement and carry out instructional activities for assigned students

  7. Maintain control of the assigned students at all times.

  8. Exhibit the qualities of a self-starter as part of an instructional team

  9. Perform emergency tasks as needed and directed

  10. Assist in all safety programs, drills and evacuation proceedings as required

  11. Perform all duties and assignments and use materials and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, using all safety equipment or clothing which might be reasonable to ensure the safety of self, fellow employees and students

  12. Assume responsibility for and secure the district assigned keys which are assigned to you for your job use and safekeeping

  13. Listen to, understand and carry out oral and written instructions and directives, and respond with oral and written reports as required

  14. Maintain good personal cleanliness and dress appropriately for the position

  15. Practice good public relations techniques with students, staff, administration and parents, demonstrating a cordial and friendly manner

  16. Practice regular and consistent attendance, arriving and departing at the designated times for your position

  17. Maintain in good condition and store for safekeeping all property, supplies and materials of the district

  18. Assist in keeping the district campuses clean and orderly

  19. Responsible for monitoring progress of each child’s growth and development and record keeping.

  20. Prepare periodic reports and Individual Development Plans, review with supervisor and parents

  21. Work with parents to promote understanding of their child's growth and development

  22. Conduct regular communication on each child's school adjustment classroom behavior, and developmental progress if applicable.

  23. Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.

  24. Attend meetings, district activities and training as assigned

Non-Exempt, 11 month position, 189 days


Classified Base Rate: $18.42 40 hr/week


Participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)
