SUMMARY STATEMENT /POSITION OVERVIEW:
Hollingsworth is a federal contractor for the USPS. They serve as a Mail Transport Equipment Service Center. They process and repair all equipment used in the transportation process by USPS. The 2nd shift Supervisor will be responsible for leading their shift, assigning their employees to roles based on operational needs, setting expectations for their employees, communicating the needs of the operation to their employees, reporting all happenings of their shift to the Plant Manager, and other duties as assigned.
The supervisor position is a leadership role. The supervisor is expected to lead their shift, make proper operational decisions, and work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure we are providing excellent service to USPS.
This is a 2nd shift position Monday - Friday (2:45 PM - 12:00 AM).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee activities and responsibilities of all personnel on their shift
- Coordinate daily workload between the available resources
- Ensure all procedures are followed by all personnel
- Ensure adequate training of new employees, retraining and cross-training of existing personnel to allow for a flexible workforce and opportunities for advancement
- Data collection and reporting
- Performs quality inspections of employee’s assigned duties
- Basic understanding of dispatch
- Communicates safety expectations to employees
- Promotes and enforces a safe work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience supervising (minimum of 2 years)
- Must be bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English)
- Strong computer skills
- Must be available to work weekends and outside of set shift times
- Positive attitude
- Excellent attendance
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to develop and implement processes and procedures
- Communication, instruction and leadership skills to direct the work of others
- Must be able to obtain background clearance
