Position Overview

Hamilton Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Pilebuck to support bridge construction projects in the Boise, Idaho area. This role is responsible for assisting in the fabrication and installation of bridge substructures, superstructures, and temporary work bridges. The ideal candidate has strong experience in welding, cutting, rigging, and pile-driving operations, and thrives in a physically demanding, safety-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Pilebuck & Structural Work
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of piling and structural components according to construction drawings
• Assist in the construction of bridge substructures, superstructures, and temporary work bridges
• Execute precision cutting for demolition and modification of structures
• Perform general carpenter duties as needed on job sites

Equipment & Tools Operation
• Operate welding machines, cutting torches, power saws, chain saws, and metal cutting saws
• Use rigging equipment, come-a-longs, and power tools safely and effectively
• Work with pile-driving equipment including pile hammers, vibratory hammers, cranes, and rigging systems

Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements
• Adhere to environmental regulations and jobsite procedures
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure a safe work environment
• This is a Safety-Sensitive Position where impairment may pose a risk of serious injury or death

Attendance & Reliability
• Report to work on time and ready for assigned duties
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Travel as required to project locations within Montana

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of pilebuck experience, including significant bridge construction work
    • Proficiency in welding, cutting, and rigging techniques
    • Familiarity with multiple weld types and methods
    • Working knowledge of pile-driving equipment and crane operations
    • Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
    • Ability to work in varying terrain, weather conditions, and jobsite environments
    • Willingness to travel within Montana for project assignments
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen may be required
    • Pre-employment screening and background check may be required
    • Strong work ethic, reliability, and safety mindset
