Job Description:

Entain Canada is hiring for a Head of Media Strategy and Planning. This highly influential leadership role will work at the intersection of Sports, Entertainment and Gaming in the world's 3rd largest gaming market.

Reporting to Entain's Head of Canada, as Head of Media Strategy and Planning you will be responsible for defining and leading the company's full-funnel media strategy, with clear ownership of top and mid-funnel investment, planning, and performance through our in-house media team.

This role sets the strategic direction for how media drives brand growth, demand generation leading to customer acquisition and commercial impact in a highly competitive, performance-driven environment, ensuring alignment across brand, product, analytics, and commercial teams.

This high impact leader will lead a high-performing media team and will establish and nurture the frameworks, partnerships, and capabilities required to deliver scalable and measurable growth across traditional and digital channels, while operating within regulatory and responsible marketing requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • You will own full‑funnel media strategy (top & mid funnel), aligning brand and performance media to lead awareness, demand, and high‑value customer acquisition across important moments
  • You will lead media planning, budgeting, and investment governance across two national gaming brands, balancing return on investment with long‑term brand growth
  • You will drive acquisition strategy through close partnership with Performance Marketing, CRM, Product, Commercial, and Analytics teams
  • You will set channel and partner strategy, unlocking innovation across emerging platforms, automation, and AI while ensuring execution excellence
  • You will lead the media function end‑to‑end—team development, senior stakeholder influence, measurement, and regulatory / responsible marketing compliance
Qualifications:
  • Do you have 8–12+ years in media, performance marketing, or digital marketing leadership roles?
  • Do you have experience leading full-funnel media strategy at scale?
  • Do you have an understanding of paid media channels, planning frameworks, and measurement approaches?
  • Do you have experience managing significant media budgets and driving ROI?
  • Do you have strong leadership and team development experience?
  • Are you able to operate strategically while staying close to execution realities?
  • Do you have strong stakeholder management and communication skills?
  • Do you have experience working in, acquisition-focused environments (e.g. iGaming, eCommerce, fintech, or similar)?
  • Do you have a strong understanding of performance metrics such as CPA, LTV, and conversion optimisation?
  • Are you able to scale effectively during peak demand periods (e.g. major sporting events)?

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in high-growth, digital, or regulated industries
  • Exposure to advanced measurement approaches (MMM, incrementality testing, etc.)
  • Experience working across multiple markets or regions
