What we’re looking for:
This internship is to support research and development and customer support activities within the Home Care application team. The intern will work alongside experienced scientists and chemists to support laboratory experimentation, data analysis, and technical documentation related to surfactants, specialty chemicals, and home care applications.This internship is designed to provide hands on industrial R&D experience in a collaborative lab environment while supporting active innovation and customer projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support laboratory experimentation related to surfactants, specialty chemicals, and formulated systems
Assist with preparation, execution, and documentation of laboratory tests and screening studies
Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data; summarize results in tables and figures
Support formulation development, stability testing, and property characterization
Prepare technical summaries, presentations, and internal reports under guidance of senior scientists
Maintain safe laboratory practices and comply with all EHS policies and procedures
Assist with literature searches, benchmarking, and technical data reviews as needed
Learning Objectives
Gain exposure to industrial R&D processes from concept through evaluation
Develop practical lab skills in formulation, testing, and experimental design
Learn how data is translated into technical decisions and customer‑facing solutions
Understand the role of specialty chemicals in energy, oilfield, and industrial applications
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in:
Chemistry
Chemical Engineering
Materials Science
or a closely related technical discipline
Completed at least sophomore‑level coursework
Basic laboratory experience through coursework, internships, or research
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team
Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
Preferred Qualifications
Prior lab or internship experience in chemistry or chemical engineering
Familiarity with surfactants, polymers, emulsions, or formulation
Experience with Excel, data analysis, or technical report writing
Interest in industrial applications and applied research
Work Environment
Laboratory‑based role with exposure to chemical handling and experimental equipment
Requires adherence to PPE and EHS protocols at all times
Collaborative environment working with scientists, engineers, and intern peers
