Paraprofessional - Special Education
185-Day Position (10 Month)

 

Now accepting applications for a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students with disabilities in a classroom environment under the guidance of a licensed teacher. 
 
Must meet federal criteria to be highly qualified by having completed at least one of the following: 

• Hold an associate's degree from an accredited college 


• Completed two years of college coursework (minimum of 48 credit hours) 


• Passed the ParaPro assessment 

Qualifications: 

• Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance


• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and community members 


• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others


• Basic computer skills involving word processing and spreadsheets  


• Previous experience working with students preferred 


• Selected applicants must satisfactorily complete a drug and alcohol screen, criminal records check, and Child Protective Services check.
