Marlborough Tavern is a high-energy, casual tavern that blends history with a modern dining experience. Known for craft cocktails, seasonal menus, and a lively bar scene, we are focused on creating a destination for both new guests and loyal regulars through great service, consistent quality, and ongoing events and promotions.

Job Title: Full-Time Restaurant Manager

Location: Marlborough Tavern – Marlborough, CT

Marlborough Tavern is a historic, community-driven restaurant known for its welcoming atmosphere, craft cocktails, rotating seasonal menus, and strong local following. We operate a full-service bar, dining room, private event space, and outdoor patio, with a focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience while continuously evolving our offerings to keep the concept fresh, energetic, and sales-driven.


Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Full-Time Restaurant Manager to oversee front-of-house operations and help drive the continued growth of the business. This is a leadership-focused role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and understands how to increase sales, build repeat business, motivate staff, and create a strong guest experience.


This position is focused on active floor leadership, team development, marketing involvement, and operational performance—not back-office management.


Compensation:


  • Salary: $70,000 annually
  • Quarterly bonus tied to sales growth and labor cost management



Schedule:


  • Full-time position
  • Nights and weekends required



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead daily front-of-house operations across dining room, bar, patio, and private events
  • Manage, train, schedule, and develop a FOH team of approximately 15 staff members
  • Maintain high standards of service, hospitality, and operational consistency
  • Build guest relationships and help drive repeat business and customer loyalty
  • Work closely with ownership to increase sales volume and overall business performance
  • Assist in developing and executing promotions, themed nights, entertainment, and special events
  • Contribute to restaurant marketing initiatives and social media engagement
  • Monitor labor costs, staff performance, and operational efficiency
  • Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally and effectively

This is not a back-office role. We are looking for a visible, energetic leader who is actively involved in the day-to-day guest and staff experience and committed to helping grow the business.
