About the Role:
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of facility operations. This role performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment and systems. The technician works collaboratively with departments to address maintenance needs and respond promptly to urgent requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects as needed.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored safely.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during maintenance activities.
