Holy Names High School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher to join our amazing faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. Holy Names High School is a small, all-girls Catholic high school located in Oakland’s Upper Rockridge neighborhood, serving a diverse student population from across Oakland and the East Bay. Courses
This position includes teaching Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, and Spanish 4/AP
Job Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Spanish
Design and implement meaningful assessments that support student growth and mastery
Teach to a variety of learning styles and provide differentiated instruction
Foster student engagement through hands-on activities, project-based learning, and real-world applications
Assess, record, and communicate student progress through timely feedback and grading
Be available to support students during office hours before and after school
Maintain an organized, safe, and vibrant classroom and laboratory environment
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school stakeholders
Participate in faculty meetings, department collaboration, and professional development
Utilize restorative practices to build classroom community and support student relationships
Contribute to the broader school community through supervision duties and events
Engage in additional opportunities to support school programming, such as Advisory, Class Moderator roles, retreats, or other student-centered initiatives
Qualifications
California Teaching Credential in Science or enrollment in a credential program
Bachelor’s degree or hi
