We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AutoCAD Plant 3D Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and CAD operations, with a proven track record in AutoCAD Plant 3D administration and catalogue development. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent technical drawing skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Job requirements
- Degree or diploma in engineering/construction management or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years direct experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D Administration and catalogue development.
- Minimum of 10 years total trade experience in design and/or CAD operation.
- Extensive knowledge, experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Strong orientation to plant design principles and industry standards; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent technical drawing skills and ability to customize components and develop standard procedures.
- Strong communication, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, Advance Steel, Inventor is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, creative, and visualization skills.
- Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines; perform independently in support of project teams.
- Good exposure to the water and wastewater treatment industry.
- Familiarity with Python, LISP, and .NET for creating custom parts and automating tasks
- Basic SQL Server administration skills
- Knowledge of the latest AutoCAD Plant 3D features and system requirements
Job responsibilities
- Administer, develop, and maintain all related engineering drawing templates.
- Follow all Group quality directives and suggest improvements where relevant.
- Ensure project scope is kept within the Group as much as possible.
- Ensure all tasks comply with QMS system requirements.
- Assist with detailed drawing work during bidding and project phases.
- Prepare mechanical design drawings during basic and detailed engineering.
- Develop drawings with AutoCAD Plant 3D for P&ID, schematic diagrams, GA drawings, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, installation drawings, and manuals.
- Set up and maintain the AutoCAD Plant 3D project manager environment.
- Create and manage catalogues for equipment, valves, instruments, and other components in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Develop and maintain project-specific specifications in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Generate and manage engineering lists such as equipment lists, valve lists, instrument lists, and line lists.
- Prepare bill of materials (BOM) lists for plant design projects.
- Create and configure isometric and fabrication drawings based on project requirements.
- Develop and maintain a pipe support catalogue for use in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Customize components in AutoCAD Plant 3D to meet project needs.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient use of AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Train and support new Plant 3D users, including creating SOPs for their reference.
- Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD Plant 3D features, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with various design and engineering disciplines, teams, and/or external counterparts via agreed platforms such as BIM360, or equivalent.
- Attend client meetings as required by project location.
- Conduct site surveys to gather required information and/or verify existing or new plant documentation.
- Maintain a good filing system for electronic and hard copy documents for easy retrieval.
- Liaise with process engineering, fabrication, and project departments to achieve competitive and precise design and costing.
- Maintain effective communication with all relevant internal and external disciplines.
- Continue the improvement plan for basic and detailed engineering work.
- Able to travel and stay short-term on project sites when needed.
